Awesome people who know their wines. When you ask for help or suggestions, they decide what your tastes are and really help you out. They don't try to sell you up to more expensive wines, but if you have the budget they always seem to be able to find you what you're looking for. I'm embarrassed that I forget the TALL gentleman's name but he is THE MAN. Seek him out. You won't be disappointed.
I wish I could give this racist place zero stars. I have been here multiple times and have a card with them. One day these two rude employees start whispering to themselves as my sister and I came to the cash register. Then they ID me and them my sister and they have never done that before when I have been in the store with my white friends before. Why are they IDing my sister when number one they are not police and number two I am the one buying the product. The employees just wanted to start something because they saw two black girls walk in. Then they refused to sell a $9 bottle of wine to me because my sister was under age. Not ONCE has this store EVER done this to me or anyone else. I call to speak to the manager after I leave the store and the employee that answered asked for my name. Since when does a store need someones name to speak to a manager? Then the employee slammed the phone down when I refused to give her my name and the manager came on and said the reason why they could not sell the bottle to me was because it will look "bad" on cameras and on the employees if they sell alcohol to someone OF age with someone under age with them and that I could not come back within 24 hours to buy alcohol because it will look "bad" on them. This store does not even know their own policy it seems like since the employee and manager told me two completely different things about their policy. I guess the employees have been looking "bad" for a long time then since I have been in here plenty of times with underage people and so have many other customers as well. Will NEVER go back and I hope they start asking everyone that is with people underage of ALL races for their IDs.Update: June 2018I only came back to this liquor store since I was in the Shopping Plaza. Once again I was profiled along with my sister and friend. The moment we walked in we were not even greeted kindly. The old racist toothless security guard said IDS. He checked all of our IDs and we are all over 21 years of age. We were walking around the store looking for a bottle of wine and workers were constantly following us. We go to the cashier to check out and then were asked for IDs AGAIN. How did our ages change from the moment we walked into the store? lol. Then a bunch of workers came out of a back room and acted like they were busy when really they were staring at us. Did they do this to anyone else in the store? No, because we were the only race of color in the store at the time. Once again one of the most uncomfortable situations I have ever had to deal with in my life. It is crazy, so sad and just disgusting that in this day and age people still treat black people like this. Will NEVER give this store a penny EVER again. And I will continue to tell everyone to never give this racist store a dime.
Since New Jersey doesn't believe in grocery store beer, I've gone to just about every liquor store between Lawrence and Hamilton, but this one....The selection is incredible. The prices are insane. The guys behind the counter are friendly, helpful, and awesome.Unless you can walk across the street to a different liquor store, why would you go anywhere else?
Big store, very good selection or wine, beer, and spirits... Very, very helpful staff... I couldn't find a wine and the staff guy walked me over personal to the spot... Great customer service..
Update: They recently redecorated the place, it is now more roomy and easier to navigate from the entrance to the beer section. Actually I like the new style. You can buy here all the alcoholic beverages you can imagine. And even more. The staff is nice and helpful, the hours is convenient.
