Searching for plumbing parts for 1970s tub left me frustrated. The 1st Ace store didn't carry all the parts. That Ace directed me to a plumbing specialty store, who also failed to provide me with the part. The workers at the specialty store directed me to Handy Ace. The clerk working in the plumbing section at Handy Ace had no trouble locating exactly what parts I required. The part was reasonably priced and easy to install. I had the tub back in working order within 15 minutes! Had I not been able to find this tub shower divider part, I was looking at hiring g plumber to rebuild the shower at a tune of $500+! Thanks to knowledge and helpful employee at Handy Ace, I did not need a plumber! I love this hardware store!
Awesome store with everything you could need from a hardware store and so much more. Immense selection of certain items(cleaning supplies come to mind) that is far beyond what can be found at other stores. Customer service is impeccable and the employees are very skilled in their particular areas of expertise(ex. We had a non functioning deadbolt fixed for free on site in minutes. For free.) also offer many other repair services & custom glass, plexiglass, wood, pipe cutting etc. Can't be beat in this realm.
10-8-18 - Leak and broken stem on Jacuzzi Whirlpool bath Water Rainbow Fill Spout/Faucet, that's discontinued. Checked online after locating it and the replacement parts. Very expensive, and out of stock, for the replacement part number I found at one site, and shipping charges. After some delay tried Ace hardware store. The lady in the paint department was courteous and directed me to plumbing. The man at the key making desk directed me to the stem section in the back, but realized an employee had to get it for me. There were many patrons there, and finally got a gentleman there who was finishing with a customer. I showed him the picture, and he saw that it was a Delta Stem kit (Delta part# RP1740C - Stem Unit Assembly). Told him I needed the spring and seat (Delta part# RP4993G), and a new screw, and tool to remove the locknut (#45292 - Socket Wrench Shower Valve 1 1/2 in and 1 3/2 in hex) that held the stem. He found a locknut and measured it for the tool and got me a screw. I was grateful and he made my day, since I had to turn the water off and on each day. Was able to finally remove the the locknut, and top part of the old stem that was stuck in the handle; and install the replacement part, after some trial and error, and the faucet no longer leaks, and am able to leave the water on now. Thanks Ace hardware.
This is a great store with knowledgeable and helpful employees. I bought a gas grill that had a problem, and Handy Ace Hardware was able to quickly get a replacement part instead of my having to disassemble and return the grill. In many respects, the store has a much better selection than the big-box stores, and is worth the slightly longer drive.
This place has black employees, but the environment is used to another culture and their ways. Went here for some business needs, I will be going to Home Depot or busy Lowe's, if I need anything for repairs and other items. I've spent over $75 on 3 different visits and so always walked out wishing I had gone somewhere else. I know how it feels to be appreciated, not there.
